Do you have a family tradition you love to do each Christmas? We have a cabin that our family visits at Christmas time every year in the mountains of Deerfield, Va. It's one of the only times we can gather together as a family; no cell service or internet...Just good old fashioned family time!
What have you asked Santa for this year?To be able to spend more quality time with family. Time is precious and something that we often take for granted.
What was a popular gift that most children wanted when you were growing up? Did you have one? American Girl Dolls were very popular as I was growing up. My mother gave me a new one every Christmas and today I share that tradition with my daughter. Do you have a favorite Christmas Movie? Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, because the snowman plays the banjo! What about a favorite Christmas food? Do you cook a big Christmas dinner? My dad's famous deer tenderloin roast! Yes, we always have a very large dinner that the whole family pitches in to prepare. What is your favorite Christmas song/album?"Beautiful Star of Bethlehem," by Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys. Name three things you are thankful for this year? 1 - My family 2 - Friends 3 - God's continuous blessings as there are too many to count What have been the highlights for you from 2018? Definitely debuting our first album, Under The Mountain, and receiving the Traditional Bluegrass Album of the Year award from the Rural Roots Commission. Any New Year's resolutions? To spend more quality time with the people that I love and surround myself with encouragement and positivity. What is 2019 going to look like for you? We are preparing to go back in to the studio to record and release a new album in 2019 and are just as excited about our upcoming show dates!
Non-Alcoholic Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe
1 bottle of Welch's Non- Alcoholic Sparkling Strawberry Daiquiri
2 TBS of Strawberry Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1 TBS of grenadine
Red Food Coloring
Ice
Whipped Topping
Sprinkles
Cherries
Pour most of Welch's non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri into a blender along with strawberry syrup, sugar, and grenadine. Add 2-3 drops of red food coloring depending on how deep of a red you would like it to be. Fill the rest of the space in the blender with ice. Blend well, use what's left of the Welch's Daiquiri to make the desired consistency. To serve, pour into glass, add whipped topping, sprinkles and cherries.
Fun for the entire family because it is non-alcoholic!
