8th & Roast Coffee Co. will celebrate the holiday season with a variety of events & offerings planned by the culinary and roasting teams. Offerings are as follows:
Handmade Holiday Market - November 29, 5-9 p.m.
8th & Roast Sylvan Park, 4104 Charlotte Ave.
8th & Roast, along with neighbors Five Points Pizza, will host a market featuring local artisans & their handmade products for a festival holiday shopping experience. All items are created locally and will include: soy candles, natural body products, jewelry, cards & stationery, photography and original prints, wooden boards and boxes, original art, leather goods, ceramics, natural dyed clothing, and an offering of coffee related gift baskets as well as baked goods from the pastry kitchen. The market is free & open to the public. A list of featured vendors is available on event page.
8th & Roast will offer full service during the market, including the espresso bar, freshly baked goods, and casual menu items. Samples from the catering menu will be offered while supplies last. Special features for sale that evening will include whiskey cider, prosecco, and their packaged items that include peppermint bark, espresso bark, snickerdoodles, and spiced nuts.
Freshly baked pies & pastries
The culinary team has prepared a menu of cookies, pastries, breads for holiday orders, with flavors featured on the catering site.
Especially for November and December, whole pies are available for advance orders. Flavors include apple pie with cranberry and cinnamon streusel, pecan pie with dark chocolate and orange zest, and sweet potato pie with sorghum marshmallow and candied walnuts. Pies are $25 and are available for online order.
Coffee gift baskets - available online starting December 1
The 8th & Roast team has prepared a variety of coffee gift baskets for holiday gifting. There are four different options, ranging in price from $70-$140, and feature items like 8th & Roast holiday coffee blend, coffee subscriptions by mail, home brew gear, baked goods, and merchandise. They will be available to purchase at the Holiday Market as well as for order on the website.
Gingerbread Decorating Class, December 1, 4-7 p.m.
8th & Roast Sylvan Park, 4104 Charlotte Ave
8th & Roast will host an evening of gingerbread house decorating and cookie decorating for kids at the Sylvan Park location. Whiskey cider & prosecco will be available for purchase for the adults, and complimentary snacks will be served. The event is $30 per child includes all the decorating materials and a gingerbread house or box of cookies to decorate. Registration is now open!
Coffee Classes

Head roaster Jimmie Getty leads guests in free coffee classes the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2:30 p.m., focusing on a variety of topics. Advance registration is required.

Coffee Master Class:

Learn the art of pulling delicious shots of espresso and pouring gorgeous latte art through studying milk steaming techniques, as well as the differences between the various milk and espresso beverages on our menu. Participants will have the opportunity to practice pulling shots, steaming milk, and pouring a cappuccino. Class is $30, which covers instruction, materials fee, and a bag of coffee to take home.

8th & Roast’s Sylvan Park shop now serves made-to-order brunch items every Monday-Friday until 11 a.m. Menu items include loaded grits with tomatoes, cheese, fresh herbs & an egg, fresh avocado & herbs on house-made rye, eggs to your liking with hash browns & bacon, and more.
