After 25+ years of writing hits for country’s biggest names, Brice Long delivers a personal album entirely in his own voice.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Brice Long steps into the spotlight today with the release of his second studio album, All I Ever Wanted To Be, an introspective project that captures the heart, grit, and storytelling of a true country craftsman.

After more than 25 years as one of Nashville’s most respected hitmakers, with over 185 cuts recorded by artists including Garth Brooks, George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Hank Williams Jr., Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, and Reba McEntire, Long turns inward, delivering a body of work that is both reflective and unmistakably his own.

Known as the pen behind chart-topping hits like “Heartache On The Dance Floor” by Jon Pardi, “Nothing On But The Radio” by Gary Allan, and “Like a Cowboy” by Randy Houser, a track that earned Long a CMA nomination for Song of the Year, All I Ever Wanted To Be marks a defining moment in his career as the storyteller steps forward to deliver his own voice.

The project has already begun building momentum, with previously released track “New Last Name” landing on major DSP playlists including All New Country on Spotify and New Country on Amazon Music, introducing Long’s artistry to a broader audience.

I spent the last several years helping other artists say what they wanted to say in a writers’ room,” says Long. “After some nudging to record my own project, I dug in and found songs that I loved, songs that hadn’t been cut. I think we created something really special. I love this record, and I’m proud of it.”

At the center of the album is its title track, “All I Ever Wanted To Be,” a raw and autobiographical standout that reflects Long’s lifelong connection to the cowboy spirit, both literal and symbolic. A writer on every track, Long frames his musical journey through the lens of a modern-day Western, delivering one of his most personal performances to date:

These days my six-shooter’s my six-string, I ride through the night on the songs that I sing, All I ever wanted to be was a cowboy.

That connection runs deeper than metaphor. Long grew up team roping and working within the cowboy lifestyle, experiences that continue to shape both his songwriting and his identity as an artist.

Hailing from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Long has built a legacy as one of country music’s most trusted voices behind the scenes. A longtime writer with Sony Music Publishing, his catalog spans generations and includes collaborations with artists such as Chris Young, Josh Turner, Randy Travis, and Randall King, among many others.

Beyond the writers’ room, Long has continued to connect directly with audiences, appearing on the God's Country Podcast, performing at the iconic Grand Ole Opry, and taking part in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Songwriter Sessions.

With All I Ever Wanted To Be, Brice Long delivers more than an album. Rooted in authenticity, rich in storytelling, and shaped by decades of experience, the project finally puts his own voice front and center, right where it belongs.
