About Asheville Proper: Established by husband-and-wife duo Owen and Mindi McGlynn, Asheville Proper is one of Asheville’s, NC’s only steakhouses. Born from a love for live-fire cooking, the restaurant offers refined culinary pleasures without pretension. The menu, driven by seasonality and availability, exemplifies the restaurant’s reverence for carefully selected ingredients, while bringing them to life over a custom hardwood-fueled grill. Chef McGlynn partners with local farmers, ranchers, and artisans from the surrounding region to deliver fresh, ingredient driven dishes that are innovative, yet approachable and familiar. The live-fire experience also comes alive in Asheville Proper’s cocktail menu, which puts a twist on classic cocktails through techniques such as barrel aging and smoke-infusions. Tucked away in the heart of downtown, the restaurant is located within the historic Grove Arcade building, offering a charming setting for dinner and drinks.

About Little D’s: Nestled in the heart of North Asheville, Little D’s is a casual eatery that focuses on seasonal fare and shareable plates, bringing slight sophistication, grand intention, and neighborhood charm into a different neck of the woods. The brainchild of Asheville Proper owners Mindi and Owen McGlynn and namesake of their daughter, Davis (nicknamed Little D), Little D’s is a place for locals to gather without the hustle and bustle of downtown. With a strong emphasis on eating with the seasons, the menu will carry on the McGlynns’ tradition of supporting the Asheville community and crafting food with a purpose, featuring sustainable dishes made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and produce. Including a combination of meat and veggie-forward offerings, guests can enjoy a selection of seasonally rotating dishes including Ricotta Gnocchi, Dry Aged Porkchop, Grilled Oysters, and Maitake Mushrooms. The beverage menu highlights classic craft cocktails with a twist including the Scotch Neck-Tai, TheModernitini, and the Little D’s Bee’s Knees alongside a thoughtful selection of wines and local brews. Boasting emerald tones and gold furnishings, the charming and cozy 2,000 square foot space can seat up to 40 guests throughout its intimate interior dining room and expansive bar. The quintessential neighborhood eatery, Little D’s is designed for guests to feel as though they’re sitting in your home dining room, aiming to be the perfect “third place” gathering spot for North Ashevillians and out-of-towners alike.
