Christie Cookie to offer the Belle Meade Bourbon cookie

A spirited Nashville collaboration – for a limited time only!

Locals will have the opportunity to experience a freshly baked bourbon treat when the Belle Meade Bourbon Christie Cookie comes out of the oven later this month. The second in a series of Nashville brand collaborations, Christie Cookie and Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery have partnered to create the ultimate confection. The Belle Meade Bourbon Christie Cookie will be offered for a limited time beginning February 25, at Christie Cookie’s 12 South Bakery and at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Marathon Village.

The Belle Meade Bourbon Christie Cookie starts with a classic dough made with real butter and brown sugar, which is infused with Belle Meade Bourbon then studded with dark chocolate chunks and almond toffee. The result is a melt-in-your-mouth cookie full of rich bourbon flavor enhanced by chewy chocolate chunks and crunchy toffee.

“Growing up in Nashville, we have always loved Christie Cookies and now we have a chance to pair our Belle Meade Bourbon with these delicious treats” said Charlie Nelson, president of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. “It's a match made in heaven!”

Christie Cookie operates a bakery storefront from its Germantown headquarters, 1205 3rd Ave North, where guests can visit and purchase freshly baked cookies, brownies and muffins, gift tins, coffee and branded merchandise. The shop opened in 2015, though Christie Cookie has been headquartered in Germantown for 18 years, where the company bakes and ships dozens of varieties of pre-baked and ready to bake cookies and brownies.

About Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery One hundred and five years after Prohibition forced the closure of one of the nation's most prolific whiskey producers, two descendants of its pioneering founder threw open the doors to their revived Nelson's Green Brier Distillery in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The new site of the notable brand is in the lively Marathon Village, an historic automobile factory now housing many of the city's creative enterprises.

Just over a decade of determination, Nelson brothers Andy and Charlie, known for their award-winning Belle Meade Bourbon, now greet the public with drinkable spirits and tours of their very own distillery as they launch the second wave of their historic family venture, originated by their great-great-great grandfather Charles Nelson in the late 1800s.

The Nelsons' fifth generation grandfather Charles, a German immigrant, built the original venture in the late 19th century -- to such success, that Nelson's Green Brier Distillery was out-producing other well-known brands by ten-to-one, before state-wide Prohibition shut it all down in 1909. The whiskey connection had been all but lost to family lore when Charlie and Andy stumbled across it as young adults [barely of legal drinking age!] and knew they had found their calling.

Carrying the family legacy of excellence and innovation forward with youthful vigor, they are especially excited about the additions to their critically acclaimed whiskey: Cask Strength Single Barrel, Cask Strength Reserve, Special Cask Finish Series, Craftsman Cask Collection, Louisa’s Liqueur, and the signature whiskey, Nelson’s First 108. Nelson’s spirits have been honored by Garden & Gun’s “Made in the South Awards,” Southern Living’s “Food Awards,” and received multiple Double Gold Medal accolades from the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
