HoneyFire Barbeque + Husk team up for a special dinner October 3

Chef Katie Coss and Pitmaster Shane Nasby will prepare a family-style hog roast



Pitmaster Shane Nasby will team up with Chef Katie Coss of Husk Restaurant for a one-night-only dinner at HoneyFire Barbeque on Thursday, October 3, 6:30 p.m. The family-style dinner will feature a whole hog and smoked chickens prepared onsite at HoneyFire, and farm to table side dishes with produce from Husk’s partner farms.


Tickets are $50 per person, and go on sale Friday, September 13 at HoneyFire.com. Tickets include a four-course family style meal and soft drinks. The full bar will be open with alcohol available for purchase, including a whiskey list with 175 offerings.


The menu is as follows:

Passed hors d'oeuvres

- Husk's signature deviled eggs & fried chicken skins, served with Habanada Hot Sauce

Salad Course

- Simple salad with winter citrus pickled shrimp

Main Course

- Hickory smoked whole hog & smoked chicken

Side Dishes

- Spaghetti squash johnny cakes

- Pumpkin braised greens

- TN smoked cheddar pimento mac n cheese

Desserts

- Pumpkin sugar cream pie

- Peanut butter banana pudding


A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to People Loving Nashville, a local nonprofit that works to bring hot meals and warm clothing to those in need.


“Katie and I became friends last year while serving at an event, and since then I’ve looked forward to the opportunity to collaborate,” said Nasby. “She’s an immensely talented chef whose kitchen philosophy is similar to mine, though our kitchens are different. We also share a passion for serving the city of Nashville through hospitality and charitable giving.”
