They will playing the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival on the ASCAP Shady Grove stage Saturday, Sep 22 at 2:10 PM. We chatted with the band to see what they are looking forward to most! What are you looking forward to most playing the Pilgrimage Festival next weekend?
Andrew Oliver: It’ll be our first performance at a big festival, so we’re excited to get up on that stage! We’re also in love with Nashville, and the lineup is awesome. There’s really not much we aren’t excited about.
What song are you most excited for old and new fans to hear?
Andrew Oliver: We have an unreleased song called, “Moving Target,” that has gone through many different arrangements and versions. It’s got a great groove and builds to an epic ending. It’s been feeling awesome lately in rehearsals, I’m pumped to see how it goes live.
Who do you look forward to performing alongside?
Devan Glover: Maggie Rogers, Jade Bird, Donovan Woods, Dawes, Hozier, LIONEL! So many of our favourite artists are playing - it’s basically our dream lineup.
Andrew Oliver: I’m most excited for Chris Stapleton, Dawes, and Donovan Woods. We toured with Donovan earlier this year, it will be cool to see how their set has evolved.
You have built quite a fan following on social media and through touring. How do you stay connected with your fans?
Devan Glover: Social media is a great tool for that - we try and stay active and honest on social platforms so that it gives people something genuine to connect to, and so they can get to know who we are outside of the music. However, there’s no stronger artist-fan connection than a live concert. We love hanging around and meeting people after our set, and hearing about the different ways they’ve connected with the songs. That is the most rewarding part of the whole journey.
Are fans going to be able to meet and talk with you during the festival?
Devan Glover: Yes! We’ll be hanging out all day on Saturday, checking out shows after our set. We’ll also drop by the merch stand after our set if people want to come say hi!

The Pilgrimage festival is also known for their amazing food vendors! What’s your favorite festival food?
Andrew Oliver: Shawarma. I’m not sure if it's really a festival food, but it’s what I feel like right now. I think I’m hungry.
You have quite a number of tour dates coming up! Is there anywhere you are excited to play for the first time or can’t wait to get back to?
Devan Glover: We’ve never played the West Coast, so that’ll be an exciting part of the tour for us. I’m probably most excited to see L.A., San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, because those are cities I’ve always wanted to travel to. And we always love coming back to Nashville, of course!
Andrew Oliver: Nashville and L.A. are the two places I’m always most excited to visit!
Is there anything coming up for you that you’d like to share?
Devan Glover: We’ll be joining the Paper Kites on their North American tour throughout November. We’ve been huge fans of theirs for a long time, so sharing the stage with them will be a very cool, very special experience.

The festival continues to drive tourism dollars to Williamson County and the Pilgrimage Foundation, the festival's non-profit arm, will donate a portion of each ticket sale to benefit the City of Franklin and Friends of Franklin Parks. In addition, a portion of ticket sales will also benefit MusiCares, a nonprofit organization that was established by the Recording Academy™ to provide a wide range of emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery resources to members of the music community.
