Interview with Savannah Conley on Upcoming Ascend Amphitheater Show in Nashville, TN

Nashville native Savannah Conley will open for Ben Folds and Violent Femmes at Ascend Amphitheater this Friday, August 9th. Savannah is an incredible vocalist who was recently named to Rolling Stone’s “Artists You Need to Know,” and spent the last year touring with everyone from The Head and the Heart and Vance Joy to Anderson East and Brent Cobb. She’s signed to legendary Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb’s imprint on Elektra Records, and participated in an NPR Tiny Desk Talk with him last year in Nashville. In 2016, she was awarded the John Lennon Songwriter’s award. We had the chance to chat with her about the upcoming show.

The Nashville Ascend show on Friday, August 9 is going to be a cool show for your fans! What kind of show can they expect? I read someone call it a ‘something for everyone tour,’ and I guess it kind of is! My set is very stripped back, Femmes are wildly fun, and Ben's is a very dynamic, beautiful set.

Is this your first time playing Ascend? Yes!

What song are you most excited for old and new fans to hear? Well, the majority of the songs are new that I've been playing anyway. So, I'll be glad to see reactions for those for sure.

Who was your first concert? Technically Wynonna Judd, but my first concert of choice was Kelly Clarkson (American idol 4ever)

Being a Nashvillian, what are some of your favorite dishes and where are the best places to find them? I love everything ever at Rolf and Daughters.

After playing a late show, what is your guilty pleasure food? Gummy bears. Black Forest brand. No other options.

Are fans going to be able to meet and talk with you after? Totally! My whole family will be there, so you might meet more than you bargained for.

Any last words for our readers and your fans? How do they connect with you? Instagram is the best way if you do want to connect. You'll definitely get dumb videos in my story and lots of dog pics, but also music stuff.
