Mikayla Lane described “Let It Be Known” as a “unique song because it features three different perspectives. The track showcases three generations along with personal stories and universal experiences that I feel everyone can relate to in some way. My dad has made a huge impression on my life and will always be someone I look up to and admire. I hope this song resonates with everyone who hears it.”
“I still get chills every time I listen to our beautiful song. I’ve been blessed with a lot of great things, but the bond I have with my son and granddaughter are the greatest, and that’s what we captured in ‘Let It Be Known.’ And I’m thankful to God for this blessing of a song,” Forrie J. Smith shared.
“I still have the voicemail Forrie left me with the chorus idea for “Let it Be Known.” I was captured immediately by the idea and the meaning behind it. Being a dad myself and growing up with such a supportive one, I could totally relate. After meeting Mikayla and her dad, and being touched and inspired by their story, it seemed meant to be. Mikayla put the perspective of a young woman into Forrie and I’s take on fathers and their own! “Let it Be Known” came straight from our hearts. That’s why it’s so special to me why it will be for so many others as well,” J. Michael Harter said.
