MOM’S SPAGHETTI ANNOUNCES “MOM’S SPAGHETTI PASTA SAUCE,” NOW AVAILABLE IN JARS FOR NATIONWIDE SHIPPING

Detroit Restaurant Concept Based On Eminem’s Iconic Line From “Lose Yourself”

Announces Sweater-Staining Sauce Can Now Be Ordered Online

Knees weak and arms heavy after lugging suitcases filled with the city’s most iconic spaghetti dish home for family and friends? Today, Mom’s Spaghetti – the concept pop-up turned brick-and-mortar downtown Detroit restaurant named for the lyric from one of the biggest rap songs of all time – announced that its spaghetti sauce will be available online for nationwide shipping. Sold in 25-ounce jars, “Mom’s Spaghetti Pasta Sauce” is available for ordering at www.momsspaghetti.com, with orders starting to ship on October 30. The sauce, like the restaurant itself, was conceived in partnership between Eminem, his manager Paul Rosenberg, and Detroit-based restaurant group Union Joints.

“This has been quite an exciting past few years in pasta,” commented Rosenberg. “It all began in an experimental pop-up shop around the release of the ‘Revival’ album in 2017. The initial feedback was incredible so we decided to take it on the road during Em’s 2019 festival run, and that all led up to the opening of Mom’s Spaghetti in Detroit. The massive response to the restaurant made us realize that there’s a market out there for our sauce, so we spent the last year working on how we could get it to people without having to come all the way to Detroit.”

Added Curt Catallo, co-owner of Union Joints: “Our approach has always been the same; to create a scratch sauce that tastes like it’s straight from the jar. We put a lot of care into how we make the sauce, and our business model always allowed us to maintain strict quality control and create a consistent product, even as we set up pop-up restaurants at various cities around the country. We are bringing that same eye for detail and local pride to the sauce that comes directly to your doorstep; it’s a Detroit-made, Midwest-produced sauce that will make you feel like you’re standing right there in the alley off Woodward Avenue.”

Mom’s Spaghetti was launched as a concept in 2017 as a pop-up at The Shelter, the iconic music venue at legendary St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, in conjunction with the release of Eminem’s “Revival” album. The pasta pop-up then made intermittent appearances at various Eminem live festival performances and events over the course of the following year including Coachella, Firefly, Governor’s Ball, and a London activation in the summer of 2018. During the pandemic, Shady Records contracted Union Joints to deliver Mom’s Spaghetti to frontline caregivers at eight hospitals and to those administering Covid-19 vaccinations at the TCF Center (formerly Cobo Hall) garage in Detroit. The Mom’s Spaghetti brick-and-mortar location opened inside Union Assembly restaurant in downtown Detroit in 2021. In 2022, a pop-up and delivery activation took place in Los Angeles in conjunction with Eminem’s performance as part of Dr. Dre’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, and later that year NYC fans got a taste when the iconic dish was served as part of a 25th anniversary celebration of “8 Mile.”

To maintain that fresh from the jar taste, “Mom’s Spaghetti Pasta Sauce” will have an initial limited run upon launch, with a plan for additional batches made and ready to go once the first shipment is sold through at www.momsspaghetti.com. Jars will be available for purchase at The Trailer...above Mom’s Spaghetti (2131 Woodward Avenue) in Downtown Detroit in limited quantity.
