This week, Garden & Gun Magazine opens its first restaurant, the Garden & Gun Club, a lively and social gathering place in the Battery Atlanta, home to the Atlanta Braves. The Garden & Gun Club brings the defining lifestyle brand to life, offering its own distinct style of Southern hospitality in a brick-and-mortar location.
SOUTHERN FARE
A menu of modern Southern favorites from chef Mike Lata and Adam Nemirow of FIG and The Ordinary in Charleston, South Carolina, is available throughout the day and includes dishes such as Boiled Peanuts, Ham Hock Rillettes with kohlrabi and Crispy Fish served with Pencil Cob grits. A list of club sandwiches such as a classic BLT and pimento cheese compliment raw bar favorites including Southern oysters by the half dozen, blue crab cocktail claws and peel & eat shrimp.
CHEERS ALL DAY
Guests can opt for classic cocktails including a Proper Old Fashioned and Mint Julep or original creations, such as the Radio Free Europe with Campari, Pastis, Vermut, sparkling wine and citrus or the Pretty Persuasian with gin, ginger, Aperol, Dimmi and lime. An impressive list of the South's best bottles of bourbon, rye and Tennessee whiskey is available in addition to an array of Amari and Alpine botanics, as well as beer and wine.
THE DIGS
Designed in collaboration with Workstead (The Dewberry, Wythe Hotel), the 1,700-square-foot space features an elegant mix of old and new elements, from the sleek leather bar stools and steel pedestal tables to an antique china cupboard that acts as a service station. The intimate and inviting space features a central cocktail bar, a raw bar surrounded by table seating in the rear dining room and bistro tables on an outdoor terrace.
TAKE IT HOME
The restaurant highlights the Garden & Gun team’s favorite brands throughout the experience, including a waitstaff uniform designed by Atlanta-based MASHBURN designers Sid and Ann Mashburn. A curated, on-site retail shop features a selection of Southern artisans and small-batch makers from Garden & Gun's e-commerce site, Mercantile + Co.
