Pizza lovers, rejoice: Emmy Squared arrives in Nashville

NEW TO NASHVILLE

The Pizza Loves Emily team has opened Emmy Squared in Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood. From the family behind Brooklyn pizza destinations Emily and Emmy Squared as well as Emily in Manhattan’s West Village, Emmy Squared Nashville is their first restaurant outside of New York.

HIP TO BE SQUARE

Chef/partner Matt Hyland serves his Detroit-inspired square pizza, a style marked by its square shape, crispy bottom, fluffy dough, cheesy “frico” crust and signature sauce stripes applied post-bake. Initially open for dinner and eventually lunch, the lively 60-seat space accommodates groups of all sizes at a mix of tables and bar seating.

ON THE MENU

The menu features 13 pies, small plates and sandwiches, emphasizing signature Emmy Squared favorites including The Emmy with mozzarella, banana peppers, red onion, ranch + side sauce for dipping and Colony² with sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, pickled jalapeños + honey. A Local section is dedicated to new pies exclusively available in Nashville such as Greenstoner with green tomatoes, hatch chili pimento cheese + Tennessee-cured Benton’s Smoky Mountain Country Hams bacon. Guests can also enjoy Hyland's eponymous burger, Le Big Matt, which stacks two locally raised Bear Creek Farm grass-fed beef patties with American cheese, greens, pickles and their renowned Sammy Sauce on a pretzel bun, served with waffle fries. To drink, guests can choose pizza-friendly beers from Nashville’s own Jackalope Brewing Company and Yazoo Brewing Company. Wines by the glass, bottle or beaker, along with classic and inventive cocktails, will join the menu in the weeks following the opening.
