Contemporary Singer/Songwriter, Sarah Taylor Young is thrilled to release her new EP, Step Into Freedom. The title cut was released in April and is already creating a buzz among music industry pundits and fans following its international premiere on Radio SoBro’s NuMu Friday (an all-streaming radio platform that allows listeners to enjoy Nashville’s songwriters worldwide). The single is now available through all streaming platforms and digital retailers and the physical EP can be purchased here beginning May 15th. Step Into Freedom takes Young’s country roots and perfectly blends them with CCM, Pop, and Inspiration to create a unique sound of her own. “Step Into Freedom” is an anthem for Young’s life and story. The album was produced by multiple Dove award-winning songwriter, Brian White and Matt Houston. Also featured as a background vocalist is CCM artist Karyn Williams who recently toured with Natalie Grant and The Newsboys. All songs were either written or co-written by Young. The 5-song collection, recorded at The Parlor in Nashville, will be available digitally in the fall of 2021. The first single, “I Still Believe” was released in February. The release of this project is extremely significant to Young. It begins a brand new chapter for her, both as an artist and personally, as a woman who has overcome being in an abusive relationship. Step Into Freedom is also the name of Young’s new ministry that she and husband, Adam, are launching, “My mission is to help other women who have been in or are dealing with similar circumstances and to remind them that they are not alone.” Young added, “I've been on my own recovery journey for a while now. I became serious about turning my personal tragedy into a way to help others when I was pregnant with my daughter Olivia, now 4. I began to experience a relationship with Jesus Christ that I never knew could exist. He is not only my Lord and Saviour, but he nailed all of my guilt and shame to the cross as well. He nailed my past and my burdens. He nailed my part as well as my abuser's parts too. It has been washed away clean. No baggage.” The first Step Into Freedom Conference will be held on May 15th from 2-5 p.m. at Life Lift Church in Murfreesboro, TN, where Young is a worship minister and has been assisting in the church’s re-launch. Register here. Face masks are required. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live on Facebook. The couple will share their journey on marriage, and the trials of overcoming the past. They will also discuss the 7 steps to freedom starting with faith and ending with forgiveness of others. Suggested donation is $10 per person (benefiting the ministry). All guests will receive a copy of the Step Into Freedom LP and a Freedom workbook to use during the conference. Guest speakers include Contemporary Christian Artist, Briana Domenica, founder of Angel in the Sky, a non-profit shining a light on suicide awareness, and Judy Smith of Second Chance Vision Ministry, shining a light on domestic violence and awareness. Young encourages anyone who feels they can relate, and/or needs help/support to participate. It is her hope to inspire, empower, and equip anyone on a similar path to the one that she was on several years ago. Additional conferences are being added to her schedule and will be posted on her website. Young is also the creator and host of Celebration Conversations, a podcast where she shares relatable and inspirational conversations with fellow co-writers, artists, and friends from all walks of life. Guests have included multi-award-winning artist, Brady Seals (Little Texas), CCM artist Briana Domenica, and former American Idol contestant, Tori Martin. Young hopes that listeners will be encouraged by the stories she shares and find motivation and celebration in their own life story. ABOUT SARAH TAYLOR YOUNG:

Sarah Taylor is an artist with substance. The Contemporary Christian artist and inspirational speaker is also a wife and mother with a story to share. She was born and raised just outside of Nashville and grew up surrounded by music, which has shaped her life. Her father, Grammy-nominated songwriter, Bobby Taylor penned hits for country superstars including Montgomery Gentry and Diamond Rio. She learned a lot from him in her early teens and was writing her own songs on the clarinet and teaching herself to play the flute, violin, guitar, and piano. Young recorded her first demo for her father, which she notes as one of her favorite childhood memories.

Young grew up in a broken home. She has always been a performer but walked away from music when she felt she would have to choose between a career in music or having a family. Feeling that the music business played a role in the break up of her parents, although it seemed logical at the time, over the years it became apparent that she missed the music that was instilled in her, and questioned her decision. Young married at 19 years of age and sadly, found herself in an abusive relationship and battling a very difficult time that took her years to overcome. Being a woman of faith, however, with love, support, and prayers, Young began the healing process and was able to move on, remarried, and had a child.

When Young was seven months pregnant, she felt God’s voice telling her to pursue her dream while listening to Linda Davis’ song “I Have Arrived.” Immediately, she knew she wanted to utilize her God-given talent of music to help others struggling with the same issues. Creating her debut album Victory helped Young to overcome her postpartum OCD, and to develop her voice and sound.

Young is now happily married and lives just outside of Nashville with her husband, Adam, and daughter, Olivia, and adds, “I want to make a difference with the power of my music and story. It is my dream to be able to utilize any success to help every woman involved in domestic violence to get out.”
