SUMMER NAMM RETURNS TO NASHVILLE’S MUSIC CITY CENTER July 18 – 20, 2019



SUMMER NAMM SHOW - Annual three day mid-year gathering of the music products and pro audio industry with new and just-released music gear and technologies from 500+ exhibitors; live music featuring all genres; visual and interactive music-making opportunities, uke & guitar circles, gear demos; future-focused panels and tech trends happening in the world of retailing and live event tech.

THURSDAY, JULY 18


NAMM OPENING PARTY FEATURING THE 36TH ANNUAL AMERICAN EAGLE AWARDS

(5:30 p.m. Davidson Ballroom, Level 1M) – Enjoy drinks, appetizers and live music, then report on The Annual American Eagle Awards honoring funk visionary George Clinton, the late “Peanuts” composerVince Guaraldi, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, all individuals and institutions who have made long-term contributions to American musical culture and heritage. Presenters include country singer-songwriter John Rich, jazz pianist George Winston, (both who will perform), and singer-songwriter Liz Rose. The event is free to attend, and VIP tickets are available for purchase.


FRIDAY, JULY 19


(6 p.m. (dinner), 7 p.m. (ceremony), Davidson Ballroom Level 1M) – Hosted by CMT’s on-air personality Katie Cook and spotlighting enterprising music product retailers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their stores, neighborhoods, and customers, and share in a vision of creating a more musical world through their local communities. Eight categories include the Music Makes a Difference Award, Top 100 Customers' Choice Award and others, culminating with the "Dealer of the Year" honor.


SATURDAY, JULY 20


MAKE MUSIC EXPERIENCE (OPEN TO PUBLIC, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.) – The one-day festival designed for musicians, gear enthusiasts, educators, artists, songwriters and industry professionals to network, discover new products, build careers with educational workshops, and experience live music. Panelists include John Oates of Hall & Oates, songwriter-author Thornton Cline, Nashville hitmakers Luke and Beth Laird and Ross Copperman, hosted by Pensado’s Place duo Dave Pensado and Herb Trawick and more. Exhibitors include Gibson, Fender, Boss, D’Addario, Casio, Peavey, Korg and more. $10 in advance, $20 at the door.


GUITAR & UKULELE CIRCLES (11 a.m. / 2 p.m.) Music City Center, Level 3 Lobby – Instruments supplied for these free community jams for first-time or experienced enthusiasts. Group guitar lesson taught by Glen McCarthy and Uke players will join YouTube sensation “Ukulenny.”
