The Mayson is a new 94-room boutique hotel now open in Dublin’s burgeoning Docklands neighborhood, 15 minutes from the city’s historic center. Located on the banks of the River Liffey in a 19th century timber warehouse, the hotel features four drinking and dining establishments, a fitness studio and pool, traditional Irish barber shop and private events space.

Designed by local, award-winning architecture firm ODOS, The Mayson combines two landmarked structures from the 1800s. The first, originally a pub and townhouse built in 1860, is now the Bottle Boy Pub and The Green Dolphin Barber, with seven Townhouse Suites above. Next door, the original brick façade and framework of a former timber warehouse have been restored, transforming the building’s lower floors into boutique fitness studio Power Gym (coming soon), a cozy lobby, DIME Coffee shop, The Mayson Bar, and an outdoor truss-roofed courtyard with three-story living wall. The floors above include The Timberyard private events space, 87 guest rooms and Ryleigh’s Rooftop Restaurant.

The Mayson’s interiors feature over 300 pieces of art from local Irish talent, including Dublin-born visual artist Domino Whisker. Throughout the lobby, bar and restaurants, velvet and floral textiles complement warm original woodworking, exposed brick and industrial pendant lighting, while the hallways feature geometric patterned carpets and ceiling mirrors for a modern kaleidoscope effect. All guest rooms include small luxuries such as SMEG minibars, Dyson hair dryers, Netflix-enabled Samsung smart TVs, rainfall showers, premium Irish toiletries, Marshall speakers, record players, and more.

Nicknamed “Silicon Docks”, recent years have brought an urban regeneration to the Dublin Docklands neighborhood, with forward-thinking tech companies like AirBnB and Google and new city landmarks adding to the local fabric. Infrastructure such as the Samuel Beckett Bridge and LUAS Docklands extension has made the area more accessible, while brand new venues including the Bord Gáis Energy Theater, refurbished 3Arena, and the Convention Centre Dublin have all become modern institutions.

The Mayson is a boutique hotel by leading Irish hospitality group Press Up Entertainment.

Room rates start from approximately $155 for a small double.
