"Thirsty Thursday" featuring HeIsTheArtist
Thank you for your time and for talking with us! Was there ever music playing in the kitchen growing up? A lot of Smooth Jazz and R&B. My mother is a big Kenny G and Luther Vandross fan.
What is the best food that comes in can? Campbell’s vegetable soup. The broth they use is my favorite!
Home cooking or going out for dinner? I like going out for dinner. It’s a good change of atmosphere. It’s always nice having someone else do the cooking haha.
What's on your pizza? Do you fold your pizza or eat it straight on? I fold my pizza. Its more like a habit than a preference for me though.
Is there anyone in your family that you can credit as being instrumental in your decision to go into the music field? Definitely my mother. She definitely helped me pay attention to the importance of Jazz music. She is the biggest Smooth Jazz fan and her love of it rubbed off on me.
Which song off of your EP is the most dear to you and why? “Boom (Love Version)” because it’s the most relatable. I took out the religion in that version so everyone can relate to it regardless of their religious background.
What's the story behind your EP’s title? “Haiku” is actually a name for a three lined Japanese Poem and the EP is three songs about love. So I put the two together for the name.
Where do you draw inspiration from when writing? God’s love for my Christian songs and love that I see in other people for my non-religious songs. I find it important to focus on love because there is too much hate in the world and the world needs more love spread in and around it.
When/where do you do your best writing? Definitely outside. Nature really inspires me. Nature is the most genuine thing you can find on earth.
If you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and why? “Sparkling Ice” sparkling water. It’s a a very underrated sparkling water and I actually prefer it to Soda. It’s extremely flavor filled with low calories.
