"Thirsty Thursday" Featuring Singer-Songwriter Shayne Cook

Thankyou for talking with us! Did you always want to be a musician or was there a specific moment that something happened that made you think, "this is what I want to do with my life." If so, what was it? For me, it was always a part of me. The big change happened when I wore myself down not following this path. Then I jumped, quit my job, and here I am.

Aside from singing do you play any instruments? I play guitar and a little piano. I didn't take up singing till late in the piece, so guitar was my first love.

What's the story behind your album's title? Epiphonetics - is a mix of two words. Phonetics and Epigenetics . As an artist we get to make up words right? Basically a story beginning with my fathers adoption - and a look into how our past plays into the way we see the world, interact and love. And discovering the importance of uncovering how your own history has shaped you.

Is there one song in particular you're most excited about people hearing? My favorite from the album is "Restless Lovers." However, I find what I like and the masses like can often differ!

What was the best piece of advice you've ever been given about pursuing a career in music? Enjoy where you are. The process is where the fun is.

What is your favorite dish to cook? I am loving anything slow cooked at the moment. Lamb, lentils, ribs, and anything in a cast iron pot.

Favorite music to listen to while you cook? I love putting on vinyl - let's say Miles Davis.

What is your favorite wine? I can't go past a good shiraz from the Barossa region in Australia.

What is your favorite sandwich? First that comes to mind, chicken katsu with pickle and mayonnaise on white bread.

If you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and why? It would have to be vegemite.
