Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Food & Wine Tasting Event
Generous Helpings, the popular annual food & wine tasting event and fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, will take place Thursday, May 10, 6 p.m., at City Winery in downtown Nashville. Participating restaurants include Barcelona Wine Bar, Butcher & Bee, Christie Cookie, City Kitchen, City Winery, Deacon's New South, Edley's Bar-B-Que, Frothy Monkey, Funk Seoul Brother, Goo Goo Shop & Dessert Bar, The Grilled Cheeserie, Hemingway's Bar & Hideaway, Hugh Baby's, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, Kroger Chef Shoppe featuring Murray's Cheese, Kuchnia & Keller, Nada, The Old School Farm to Table, Pastaria, Saltine, Sinema Restaurant & Bar, Sweet 16th Bakery, Tànsuŏ, Von Elrod's Beer Garden & Sausage House and Vui's Kitchen.

Proceeds from Generous Helpings and the Chefs’ Dinner will benefit Middle Tennessee’s Table, Second Harvest’s grocery rescue program. Middle Tennessee’s Table is designed to reduce both hunger and food waste by rescuing, sorting and distributing frozen meat, dairy, produce and dry groceries from more than 230 grocery stores and food donors. Last year, Second Harvest distributed 32 million pounds of food including nine million pounds that were rescued through this program.
Generous Helpings will kick off with an exclusive Chefs’ Dinner, scheduled for Monday, April 30, at Henrietta Red, at 6 p.m. The multi-course dinner will feature a lineup of Nashville’s best culinary talent who collaborate on a tasting menu. This year’s Chefs’ Dinner is comprised of all women chefs, including: Jessica Benefield (Two Ten Jack), Maneet Chauhan (Chauhan Ale & Masala House), Margot McCormack (Margot Café & Marche Artisan Foods), Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red), Rebekah Turshen (City House), and Lisa Marie White (Marsh House). Molly Martin and Lyndi Stein of culinary events kitchen Juniper Green will provide passed appetizers during cocktail hour. This event is sold out.
Generous Helpings and the Chefs’ Dinner are sponsored by Kroger. Generous Helpings will feature 30 of Nashville’s best restaurants showcasing tasting-sized portions of signature appetizers, entrees and desserts, while local beverage distributers will provide fine wines and craft beers. Generous Helpings will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2018, 6 p.m. at City Winery in downtown Nashville. Tickets to Generous Helpings are $50; price goes up to $60 on April 19.
