Vivek Surti of Tailor has earned a prestigious accolade as a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef in Southeast in advance of the 30th annual James Beard Awards. The James Beard Foundation announced its list today of Restaurant and Chef Award semifinalists representing a wide collection of culinary talent, from exceptional chefs and dining destinations across twelve regions. This honor for Surti comes on the heels of earning coveted spots for his restaurant Tailor on Bon Appétit’s Hot 10 and Thrillist’s Best New Restaurants lists.
"It is such a huge and unexpected honor to be recognized as one of the best chefs in this region, and I am humbled to be in the company of other Nashville friends and regional chefs I admire," said Vivek Surti, culinary creator of Tailor. Other Nashville chefs who are included in the twenty semifinalists for Best Chef in the Southeast include Josh Habiger (Bastion), Philip Krajeck (FOLK) and Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red).
