What’s your favorite Christmas memory?
I have so many. Christmas really is a special time for me and my family. We all slow down and spend quality time together. Whether its watching a Christmas movie, shopping for gifts, or just grabbing some dinner out, it’s the time of year when we make the most memories. One of my favorite Christmas memories would be hearing sleigh bells outside my house when I was probably 5 years old. I’ll never forget how excited I felt and how quickly I went to sleep!
What’s your idea of a good Christmas dinner?
Ham or prime rib. In my family, we have a tradition of opening gifts and having our celebration on Christmas Eve. We have ham sandwiches and potato salad, a family tradition. Then on Christmas Day, we all sleep in, and then the kids open their gifts from Santa. We watch movies and hang out until its time for prime rib dinner.
Do you have a favorite Christmas album?
Definitely James Taylor’s Christmas album. It became a staple in my house about 10-15 years ago. I love all Christmas music SO MUCH, but it truly doesn’t feel like the holidays until my mom and I put that record on and wrap gifts together.
Do you have any favorite traditions or favorite movies for the holiday season?
We love to watch Christmas movies! Die Hard usually happens, as well as my personal favorite, Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone. “Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal!”
What's been your favorite album of 2019
That’s a tough one. I loved Lennon Stella’s EP as well as Seaforth’s.
What are your hopes for 2020? Any plans?
Hoping to hit the road in 2020 and play all over!! I got to play in Scotland and Ireland this year for the first time. I’d love to do that again and explore more places I’ve never been.
The holiday season brings the best parties and time together with friends and family. What is your signature cocktail recipe that you will be drinking/serving?
I’ll be serving my famous “Cowboy Cocoa” - in honor of my song “Tequila Told Me To” (stream it now!), I like to add a splash of tequila in the hot chocolate to spice things up ;) Here’s the recipe:
1 oz Bittersweet chocolate
1/8 tsp Chili powder
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 tbsp Cocoa powder, unsweetened
2 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Vanilla extract 2 cups Milk *Splash of tequila and cayenne pepper optional
