Diving right into the Country music scene, Black River Entertainment’s Pryor & Lee’s hard-hitting debut single “Y’allsome,” is available to stream and download now. Impacting country radio on Monday, June 29th, “Y’allsome” is bringing “some overdue rowdy to Country radio…” - American Songwriter. Penned by ace songwriters Rhett Akins, Marv Green, and JT Harding, the boot-stomping ode to country fans exemplifies Pryor & Lee’s fun side and dynamic live show. “Y’allsome party people / Y’allsome crazy mothers / Y’allsome freakin’ good lookin’ country music lovers,” Pryor & Lee, who have performed at the Daytona 500 and Auto Club Speedway in 2020, croon alongside soaring guitar parts and ear-grabbing rhythms. Produced by Doug Johnson and Chip Matthews, Pryor & Lee first heard “Y’allsome” back in February. As detailed in their recent interview with American Songwriter, “On the very day they were set to track their debut song, COVID-19 began its cruel hold on the country. And in the blink of an eye, the enthusiasm surrounding the duo with the big vocals and that duo’s intoxicating debut single came to a screeching halt...And while the pandemic continues across the country and around the world, ‘Y’allsome’ has taken on a whole new meaning, a whole new purpose, a whole new reason to believe that this song was meant to come out at a time such as this.” Looking ahead to this release, Pryor & Lee took a moment to reflect. “We couldn’t be more excited to share our debut single, ‘Y’allsome’ with the streaming and country radio worlds. We have worked and prayed for this moment for years, and now, it’s here. Cheers to all those people that have believed in us and to all the amazing country music lovers out there!” First meeting back in 2018 as contestants on the 14th Season of NBC’s The Voice, Pryor Baird and Kaleb Lee, then solo acts were paired as roommates during the television singing competition’s Blind Audition, and a friendship instantly formed. While they had no intention of forming a duo during their time on The Voice where they both placed as finalists in the Top 8, their on-stage chemistry was undeniable. During the season they shared the stage twice together. In December 2019, the pair split the bill for a studio session to record “Blame Me,” a hard-hitting country tune that has a man owning up to his faults. With captivating harmonies, intricate guitar licks, and a pounding beat, Pryor and Kaleb found their sound and voice as a duo. Black River heard the song a month after its recording and quickly signed the men to a record deal in January 2020, before they settled on the band name. ABOUT PRYOR & LEE
Black River Entertainment recording artists Pryor & Lee are the first country duo signed to the Nashville based entertainment company. The duo, consisting of Pryor Baird and Kaleb Lee, were brought together as roommates on NBC's singing competition The Voice and eventually began performing together, sparking an undeniable musical connection. Before joining forces, both Pryor and Kaleb were pursuing solo careers. In 2019, Pryor toured across the country in support of his solo EP titled All Over Me featuring songs from hit songwriters Tommy Carlisle, Trent Willmon, and Easton Corbin. Meanwhile, Kaleb released four singles, including his song "I Dream in Southern" (Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Brandy Clark) featuring superstar Kelly Clarkson. Ultimately, they decided to combine Pryor’s electric guitar skills and "growly bluesy pipes and stellar vocal range" (Rare Country)with Kaleb's "soulful and whiskey-soaked vocals" (Billboard) to create a fresh sound with a throwback vibe. Pryor & Lee's first single "Y'allsome" written by hit-songwriters Rhett Akins, Marv Green, and JT Harding, is digitally available to stream and download now and is impacting country radio on June 29th, 2020.
