"Thirsty Thursday" Featuring Canadian Roots Rock/Americana Artist, Cory M. Coons

Thank you so much for talking with us! Where did you grow up and how has that influenced your style of music? Eastern Ontario, Canada. Almost every kind of music has been available to me from the time I grew up until now. So I have a few different influences and styles that have directly impacted my writing and my music.

Did you always want to be a musician or was there a specific moment that something happened that made you think "this is what I want to do with my life." If so, what was it?

Probably when I was in the seventh grade, and my music teacher asked if there was anyone in the class who wanted to come up and play her bass guitar. I was the first one to raise my hand, and I went up while she showed me my first three note progression of "Old Time Rock and Roll," by Bob Seger.

If you could only perform one of your songs for someone who has never heard of you, what song would that be? "Leavin'"

Is there one song in particular you're most excited about people hearing? Again, the latest single "Leavin,'" and a couple new upcoming unreleased songs in the works.

Aside from singing do you play any instruments? I play Guitar, Bass, a little harmonica, mandolin, a little drums and I can tinker around on the piano.

If you could share a meal with any four individuals, living or dead, who would they be? Tom Petty, Tommy Shaw, Bryan Adams, Keith Urban.

Was there ever music playing in the kitchen growing up? Yes, my mother would play the radio all the time when I was growing up.

Favorite breakfast? Bacon and Eggs with hashbrowns.

Favorite childhood cereal? Shreddies and Sugar Corn Pops.

Favorite wine? Red

If you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and why? I'm not really sure... Maybe a soft drink company like Coca Cola or Canada Dry. Or maybe Gatorade? No reason in particular. I just like them.
