Thank you for chatting with us! Since every project has a story, what’s the story behind your debut album “This Will Make You Cry”?
Gianni: This is an album that’s been four years in the making. Some of the songs were written back then, some of these songs have been written in the past year. All songs that have real personal feelings that I’ve been trying to let go through. These are songs about dealing with loss but also about no longer letting it control you and finally saying “screw it.”
Sometimes when you feel like you have no one to talk to about your problems or feelings you might as well put it into a song and let it live through that.
What’s the story behind your album’s title?
The story of the title deals not necessarily with the intention of making the listener cry but making the person who’s the inspiration for the songs on the album cry.
Is there one song in particular you’re most excited about people hearing?
Gianni: I’m really excited for people to hear our song “Down” on our debut album “This Will Make You Cry,” which we just released in June. It’s a song that came together quickly but holds a lot of emotional weight. I’m excited for more people to get to experience this track.
Do you have any pre-show rituals?
Usually a few car beers and some positive words of encouragement!
At the end of the day, what do you hope is the message of your music? What do you hope people take away from your songs?
Gianni: I hope people can connect and feel the emotion that we’re trying to convey through our music and that people know that they aren’t alone in their feelings of longing or sadness.
Favorite music to listen to while you cook?
David Eisermann: When I’m cooking I like to listen to Steve Earle.
Gianni Carpanzano: When I’m cheffing it up in the kitchen I like to listen to Babe Rainbow. They’re from down undah.
Marc Marenco: In the kitchen I’m listening to big band music.
Best food that comes in can?
Dave: Spam
Gianni: Spam
Marc: Progresso soup
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
Gianni: It would have to be Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Lemmy Kilmister and Bon Scott. (Dave says he hopes he gets the invite to this)
Dave: Jackie Chan, David Bowie, Brian Wilson and Little Richard
Marc: John Bonham, Kevin Parker, Alexander The Great, Action Bronson
What is your favorite childhood cereal?
Gianni: Fruity Pebbles
Dave: Cap’n Crunch
Marc: Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Finally, if you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and why?
Gianni: I always talk about getting a liquid death sponsorship because I think that would be so sick but most definitely Bud Light.
